How I Broke Free of a 20 Year Sex Addiction – And What You Can Do to Help Others! Part 2

John has some sobering words to say to a person that thinks like I used to 1 John 2:3-4 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. In John’s eyes because I am an adulterer and knowingly continue to have no regard for my fellow man and God’s Holy Commandments I am considered a liar and the Truth is not even in me. People argue, “Well you can’t say we have to be perfect to get to heaven.” Yet two verses down John tells us how we should be walking on this earth if we are abiding in Jesus like we all say that we are. 1 John 2:6 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. And how did Jesus walk? He was perfect. We have to walk in the Spirit and not walk in the wisdom of our own flesh or else we are under condemnation and we would not know this if we only had a NIV Bible. But the New King James says: Romans 8:1 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. We have to walk in the Spirit, in other words every single thought has to be taken captive and assessed and acted upon by obeying the Word of God. By letting what the Word of God dictate what we do in every situation we walk in the Spirit and the Bible promises we will overcome the lusts of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So it is possible not to walk in the flesh and it is possible to conquer sin in our life. We will tell a homosexual that he cannot continue sleeping with men and be a Christian, but if I keep my addiction to prostitutes secret and I think I am going to heaven without very re ally repenting and turning away from my sin then I am mocking God. For Grace did not come into the world so that a sinner’s prayer could separate us from the whole world and let us continue to walk in blatant sin. Grace came to give us power to conquer sin. This is what grace came into the world for
