Condom Art Contest 2010

Stop me if I have said this before, but there are two talents I wish I had: drawing and singing. My voice teacher made it clear to me in high school that singing needed to be put on the back burner never to reemerge if she was within earshot. My not-intended-to-be-funny stick drawings have made it clear to me that my art will more than likely never be hung in any gallery unless it was the gallery of the absurd. Thus, I live vicariously through those artistic persons I know and try not to be too terribly jealous of them. For those of you who are creative enough and ballsy enough to throw your art out to the world at large , then do I have the contest for you. Beginning April 1st, artists who are ages 25 and younger (sorry, my fellow 30-something peers) are invited to submit their artistic views of a message screaming “!” that will be used as cover art for condoms . So if you ever sulked in your room drawing/painting/coloring your feelings out and wondered how you could get the world to notice you, well here is your chance to have your art seen by thousands of people hurriedly ripping open condom packages before achieving full safe ecstasy! The contest is sponsored by the California Family Council, Inc. and they are serious about promoting . This Condom Cover Art Contest is being held throughout the state of California in order to educate the public about preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Six artists will be chosen and awarded $500 so that their colorful designs can be printed a thousand times over on condom packages to be distributed statewide. If you have ever wanted to see your art printed in full color and distributed to thousands of people, here is your opportunity to get your name out. As long as you are 25 or younger and living in California, all you need to do now is put whatever is swimming around in your mind to paper and postmark your entry by July 1st, 2o10. Previous winner Jay Li has seen his artwork on thousands of Condom Art products offered and distributed by the California Family Health Council. A portion of these condom sales will be utilized to finance future programs by Condom Art. In fact, if you want to support the Condom Art project today, visit the following site to buy an HPV scarf or a pair of Be Safe boxersfor your loved ones: http://epahealth.stores.yahoo.net/apparel.html.
