A Green Welcome Back to School

It’s time to go back to school. Students will be learning new things as they return to class but one subject should definitely be on the “learning list” this year: protecting the environment. Our planet Earth needs your help. Students, teachers and parents should all be united in this important issue and lessons should start at home. Look for alternative ways to start this school-year the “green way”. Need an idea? Pack lunches using reusable products for food and beverage storage. Reducing garbage is one of the best ways to help the environment. Every day, thousands of tons of garbage are collected in schools across the country and the number adds up as the school-year goes on. If everyone can come up with a simple way to minimize trash disposal, we can save a lot of trees and protect our planet. Reusable products can be used time and time again. Also known as “green products”, they are washable and resistant to last an entire school-year, which makes them economical too. Check for recyclable products, normally identified by a number inside the recycling symbol, generally on the bottom of the product. Moreover, lunch bottles and food containers are one of the best ways to save some money. Plus, some of these products are really cool too . Try to use recyclable napkins and tableware to ensure minimal waste
